Re: Is the Toshiba HD-A20 the best HD DVD Player yet?
From what I hear the Toshiba HD-XA2 is pretty impressive, other than the cheapy-like build of the unit. And it is supposed to be still the Top of line flagship model for Toshiba, even over the A35. The HD-XA2 is HDMI 1.3 and theoretically should be ableto send bitstream versions of TrueHD and DTS Master HD to a receiver. However, a firmware update is the only hope for that at this time. But without the capability of those new formats, even simply internal decoding of the DTS Master track, how can it be considered the top of line? Especially when the A35 does both of audio formats (internally or through bitstream).
Andrew, I'd be curious to see how the A35's Anchor Bay VRS processor comapres to the HD-XA2's silicon optix HQV Reon processor.
