I heard some not so good things about the Onkyo's with regards to over-heating and lip sync issues to name two off the top.

In your opinion, what is the best HDMI 1.3 "ss reciever for music" (that might sound like a contradiction in terms I understand), for ~$2K? In the mean time I'll check out both Denon and the Marantz.
