As usual, you make a great point!

I for one have had my issues with HDCP handshake, and find it amazingly frustrating. The standard is out now, and I suspect these issues will lessen over time. I know what you mean about running component....

I personally refuse.

I run fixed pixel displays in both rooms and am not going to feed them analog video. If HDMI doesn't work, something changes or goes back like you said.
