I have the meridian 598dvd player I think it is one of the best cd players for the money I have compared it with a lot of cd players and preferred 598 all the time. Compared it in my system with £8000pownd naim CD player the naim CD player had too much bass and not much air around the voices. I use it a lot for listing to 2ch music.

Front Dali helicon 400, Dali in wall back speakers, Snell ps10sub, Chord signature cables all round. X-box 360HD add on. And ISOTEK power supply and cables. Installed it all my self.
