Just run dual Cat 5e wires from the family room TV system to the future outdoor TV location. Then you can use a Cat5e sender/receiver to basically do anything you need. Cat 5e is cheap, easy to run thru conduit, and readily available.

Others might recommend running a miniRGB-5 coaxial cable...but the wire is more expensive and involves crimping the ends etc.
