Hi, we had the same problem with our Blu-ray. Would play any DVD we put in but started off with jumping large chunks of film as it was playing to stopping completely. We took it back to the shop and I think a new laser was put into the player. Still does this sometimes but nowhere near as much. One suggestion was that the player was too hot (something to do with too many appliances in out TV stand).
