Sony Medical has been around since April of 1988 when I worked for them. Their products
are not necessary in the O.R. but a postponable purchase. The medical manufactures such
as Stortz and others sell M.I.S. cameras, and sell much of the Sony Medical line. Many of the products have and are professional video products slightly modified for hospital use, such as a different power cable. Their prices are very high. In 88 a Video Color Printer the UP5000 was sold to medical accounts at a mere $5000+! That quality now is available for under $200.
