I won't get too argumentative. Actually my comparison was unfair as the JVC sells for about 7K. It should be compared to the Pearl's bigger brother the Ruby, which it also smokes. Actually the Pearl is pretty good at $3500, but for the same price my reference Samsung SP-H710AE beats the pants off the Sony in every aspect of performance except resolution.
I understand that we will be getting a look at Samsung's 1080p DLP at CEDIA. Joe Kane had a hand in the design of the Samsungs, and I expect the 1080p to be the reference in 1-chip DLP projectors as the 710 has been for many of us.
