Default Re: Chirping sound from a subwoofer?

I had the smae problem with a Linn AV 5150 sub. Yes, a little noise on powering up is normal, but it is really annoying to me when watching a film or litening to music and reminds me of a shortcoming in my system everytime I hear it, and it sounds like it does the same to you.

I ran a line from my center channel to another of the subs inputs. If your sub and center cross over with some overlap, the sub will always get something to reproduce during MC playback and therefore always stay on.

I accomplished this as the Linn amps I was using with it were designed to be daisy chained and had multiple RCA's per channel all active. You could also put an RCA splitter (often seen with subwoofer cables...where I found mine) and then re-calibrate the center to compensate for any change in level from diluting the signal to two amps instead of one.

Hope that helps!
