But that doesn't address the 2nd point which is that there is still a large install base of HD DVD software belonging to consumers who would jump at the chance to have additional hardware able to play it. With Toshiba selling fully featured stand-alone HD DVD players for under $199, I can't imagine that royalties would be that large an obstacle to final price.
