the Panasonic with it's excellent picture and sound quality should have had a longer shelf life than the 4 or 5 month's it was out before it was discontinued. People are paying twice of what the player sold for new just to their hands on one now.. it's so good.

I'm just glad I got one the second day after it was released.. otherwise I like a lot of other's might have been SOL.

I understand the new players from Panasonic and other makers are due out soon.. but with the BD55 getting such incredible reviews.. don't you think they could have at least kept it active untill the new generation of players came out? I think that was very foolish on the part of Panasonic.
