Re: Are we reaching the end of High End Audio?
High end audio will never die. The people that support this market are mostly well-off, houses paid for and a little cash in the bank. The recession may slow sales a bit but ultimately it will have no effect on the audio portion of it. The video side is another matter. Soon, we will probably see integrated panels that have no need for external boxes or any kind. Hopefully, able to decode all formats for video. The lack of proper pricing and monopolizing by Blu Ray will have a large part in where the video market goes. If they (BR) don't start catering to the consumer better, it will be ugly. But Blu Ray will probably be the last physical medium for video anyway. Personally, I can't wait until Blu Ray dies and we can get on with proper video distribution that provides the consumer with all aspects of what they need.
