This sounds like the same things that's been said for over a year.
I do not believe downloads will replace Blu-Ray for a couple of reasons, quality, compressed downloads without lossless audio does not have the same quality as a Blu-Ray disc.
Downloads take forever for most people. I have 3meg DSL & when I was testing DirecTV's VOD it took me 7 hours to download a movie!!
Also if millions of people do start downloading movies the IP's will be putting clamps on bandwidth in a heartbeat!
The IP's don't make any money on downloads & won't want all their bandwidth being used up for downloads.

Maybe downloads will replace DVD's one day but there will always be a need for the higher quality that Blu-Ray delivers.
