I went through a similar issue on my HT receiver hunt years ago. Compared many units, but in 2ch only, at B&M's, home etc..., had about 6 I could live with, then weighed features/price settled on the Rotel.
Hey so far I've treated the units pretty tame here. You don't want to know how I feel about its redbook presentation! It is what it is, a $150 uni, nothing wrong that, just doesn't work for me.
