I sort of agree, but as long as a pre/pro can accept MC PCM audio, then it is functionally current. The ML can do this, Meridian is working on new models, but no specs released yet.
I would like to see all the decoding done by the pre/pro, but so far, we are not sure what will become the standard and norm, once again we are in no man's land.
I don't know what will shake out over the next few weeks, months, year(s) so what we think we want might not be needed.......
