If you have a receiver (or pre/pro, but none really exist) that is HDMI 1.2, you are safe, because like you said Jerry, this allows you to feed it MCPCM which is likely equal to bitstream.

Deep color will need to work it's way into the film industry before we'll ever see the benefits or this, and that doesn't seem to have happened yet.
