I agree with what you say, Jerry. Two or three factors though. First British electronics brands wanting to get into Blu-Ray players are being asked for UKL250000 per annum subscription upfront to join the format. This is a lot of cash. Second the discs are not cheap to manufacture and the end-price might scare off all but the richest and bravest making it too nichey a format to make waves. Third if the future of home high-end audio is to listen off personal players and home servers, then another option is to download high res. audio files - this method will be attractive if Blu-Ray works out too expensive.
