I got my BDP-1000 to play every disc when it was current on firmware, even POTC and the likes.

I know of the toasting on one,and some problems with others, but FWIW I have always been able to make every incarnation of Samsung players work (with appropriate firmware) every time and with every disc, so from my experience I don't see a successful lawsuit, but then again, I am a doctor, and not an attorney and I really can't say much for their practice or ethics.
