What
is there to say about this album that you can't glean from its cover.
It's The Hawk. Remastered. Do you really need any more impetus to
purchase? It features Hawkins on tenor sax as always, Tommy Flanagan on
piano, Major Holly, Jr. on bass, and Eddie Locke on drums. It also
features a softly moving 'A Fellow Needs A Girl' and a version of
'Smoke Gets In Your Eyes' that is so lonely you want to buy it a drink.

With
perhaps the exception of the recently deceased Greatful Dead, Aerosmith
and The Rolling Stones, there are few bands who appeal equally to two
entire generations more than The Steve Miller Band. Every summer Steve
Miller sells out "the sheds" aka: the 5,000 seat outdoor arenas found
in every city in the country. High school and college students mingle
with Baby Boomers to make up one of rock and roll's most diverse
audiences. And all the better for Steve Miller who keeps selling
records like no tomorrow.

Jimi
never got the chance to release his fourth album, a double record,
before he departed on that fateful day way back in September of 1970.
For over 20 years the music of Jimi Hendrix has been fought over by his
record companies and his father, Al Hendrix. Finally, Al Hendrix has
won the rights to Jimi music and has re-released the three original
records along with increasing amounts of ancillary records like this
effort entitled South Saturn Delta.

Have
you ever heard of the radio format 'Hot AC?' You may have not, but
chances are there is at least one of these stations in your town. Think
of artists like Natalie Merchant, Deep Blue Something, Sheryl Crow,
etc. At any rate, as this format grabs listeners daily there is a
greater push to find artists who can feed this need. This is where UMA
is targeted to go. Here's the problem--we have enough bands that want
to sound like REM. They're everywhere.

Say
what you want about rap and hip-hop but one thing is undeniable,
they've influenced virtually every music genre out today. Hanson, a
disgusting little pop band, has scratching in the background of a
number one hit. Branford Marsalis, respected jazz will-be
hall-of-famer, has formed Buckshot LeFonque, a group that fuses jazz
and hip-hop. And what about trip-hop? It's a genre.
