So you missed out on the $199 deals last fall for digital satellite
video. You're increasingly frustrated by the noisy, poor quality signal
your local cable system provides plus there are a couple channels you'd
love to get but The Powers That Be force you to buy another $20-a-month
"package" to get them. And to top it all off, now your cable provider
is not only raising their rates again but lowering the picture quality
even further. . . The Man's keepin' you down too, eh, buddy?

An Exercise in the State of the Art at Transparent Audio
Last
month when on a business trip to a suburb of Boston, I took the better
part of a day to visit Transparent Audio in Saco, Maine. Transparent
had offered a tour of their state-of-the-art facility the next time I
happened to be on the East Coast, so once plans to travel to the New
England area were confirmed, I set up a visit. This was a pleasure
trip, not business, and a chance to play in a room rumored to be one of
the best listening facilities in the world, an opportunity I couldn't
resist.

Tomlinson Holman’s Latest Experiment
A
young woman approaches the tall, sandy-haired gentleman in the
unassuming and uncorporate-like Polo shirt and khaki pants. She shakes
his hand and expresses her genuine appreciation: "Thank you so much for
THX. When my friends and I go the movies, we always look for the THX
logo to ensure we’re getting the best sound."
Returning
her praise with a smile, Tomlinson Holman, the creator of Lucasfilm’s
THX technology, remarks he’s pleased she’s received so much enjoyment.

Travel Audio
In seven-plus years of publishing AudioRevolution.com, it has become a
necessity to travel extensively, whether it be to attend tradeshows,
visit clients or simply going on a vacation. With my desktop and home
A/V systems sitting dormant, the need to get soothing tunes piped into
my brain dsuring a road trip has become an increasing priority for me.
I therefore went on a search to find some of the finest,
highest-performance, most luxurious products you can stash in your
briefcase for a flight to anywhere.
