The movie flirts with connotations of being a thriller with strong mystery overtones, and a presentation of philosophy and the metaphysical aspects of life itself, tinged with growing paranoia. Audiences talk about “Vanilla Sky” at lot, and the general consensus is that director/screenwriter Cameron Crowe’s and star Tom Cruise’s efforts will be heartily embraced or thoroughly shunned.

Watch everyone go silent for a moment, waiting for more news, or for the proper moment to digress about his or her own pet theories about the man who taught a city to fear the coming of the night.

The movie put the casual sex of the ‘80s on the executioner's block and brought down the guillotine blade with a frightening whack! Reports and surveys indicated that the number of extramarital affairs actually went down after "Fatal Attraction" claimed the attention of a nation. Of course, some said that the number of attacks against men went up. Feminists everywhere were outraged and, for a time, Glenn Close became "one of the most hated women" everywhere because of her portrayal of the antagonist.

title: Domestic Disturbance function popUp(URL,NAME) { amznwin=window.open(URL,NAME,'location=yes,scrollbars=yes,status=yes,toolbar=yes,resizable=yes,width=380,height=450,screenX=10,screenY=10,top=10,left=10'); amznwin.focus();} document.open(); document.write(""); document.close(); studio: Paramount Home Entertainment MPAA rating: R starring: John Travolta, Vince Vaughn, Matthew O'Leary, Teri Polo, Steve Buscemi release year: 2001 film rating: Two Stars sound/picture: Three-and-a-Half Stars reviewed by: Tara O'Shea "Domestic Disturbance" is akin to a two-hour long version of the fable "The Boy Who Cried Wolf" as directed by Alfred Hitchcock. Unfortunately, Harold Becker is no Hitch, and this John Travolta thriller plays like a by-the-numbers made for TV movie, despite strong performances from Vince Vaughn and newcomer Matt O'Leary.
