Going public in the middle of a heated negotiation worked for EchoStar CEO, Charles Ergen because Viacom’s channels are back on Dish Network after a brief hiatus. After being bloodied by congress just a few weeks earlier, Viacom CEO, Mel Karmazin seemingly acquiesced from forcing Dish Network to pull all of the Viacom channels from their satellite TV line up. Some of these channels include CBS, MTV, VH1, Comedy Central and many others.

No more Discovery HD Theater shows about Manatees for OJ Simpson. The Heisman trophy winning USC running back has reportedly been sued by satellite TV provider DirecTV. In a report on Eonline.com today, the satellite provider filed a federal suit against the former NFL star for use of cheater cards or bootlaoders which allow users to have access to many if not all of the channels on DirecTV without paying for them. Simpson’s home theater equipment was reportedly ceased during a government raid of his home looking for drugs in 2001. This is when they supposedly found the illegal DSS hardware.

Echostar’s CEO, Charles Ergen, showed his frustration with Viacom CEO, Mel Karmazin today in a publicly released letter. The point of contention is the fact that after today CBS channels will not be allowed to be broadcast on Echostar’s Dish Network. The digitalbits.com is reporting that the Lord of the “Lord of the Rings”, Peter Jackson, recently alluded to releasing his movies in HDTV formats. At a Hollywood party for 1500 supporters of his films, Jackson said "I'm sure most of you have heard me blabbing off in the past few weeks but we've just finished the extended cut of the DVD. I finished the edit before I came over here - these poor bastards at Weta have got another 350 effects shots to do! They're well on the way. Elijah's seen the extended cut. New Line has announced some box set that's supposed to be coming out which I didn't know anything about. When I've done King Kong I'd like to do a proper box set and we've got a whole bunch of material - not of the movie but we've got a whole lot of bloopers out there! When King Kong's ...

It's been more than a decade and there have been countless rumours, Fox is currently producing a fifteenth series of the cartoon classic, however, we've still not seen any sign of a Simpsons movie. Until now. After one of the writers let the cat out of the bag in an interview with DVD Fanatic yesterday, the creators of The Simpsons have officially confirmed to industry paper Variety that a big screen version is on its way. According to James L Brooks, the film is still in the very early stages but pieces are already falling into place. "We've got a very good and interesting idea, and it's different from the show," he told Variety. "You know, it's like the South Park movie where it's just a bigger, longer, amplified version of the show. I can't tell you anything specific about it. My wife doesn't even know the secret."
