DVDO® has just announced that their next generation high-definition video scaling processor, the DVDO iScan VP30 is now shipping. This third generation 1080p capable video processor is based on the the iScan HD and iScan HD+ and is the first stand-alone high definition video processor offered by DVDO with four HDMI inputs.

DVDO’s making the latest update to its iScan HD+ software available online. It goes beyond bug fixes and compatibility patches to offer 490i/576i DVI support, full input and output aspect ratio control, display profiles, non-volatile memory settings and increased range on frame rate conversions.

Lumagen showed off their latest video processor for high-definition projection-based systems at the CEDIA Expo. The VisionHDQ has four DVI-I inputs that offer switching capabilities among multiple analog and digital high-definition sources for improved performance from digital projectors and plasma displays. It supports output at a full 1920 by 1080p, 60-Hertz progressive resolution and is easy to program for other resolutions.

DVDO has announced the release of the iScan VP30 – the company’s third-generation high-resolution video processor and AV switcher for up, down and cross-converting any video source. The processor uses Anchor Bay Technologies’ Precision Video Scaling II technology with 10-bit scaling, non-linear scaling and sharpness controls. Its analog transcoding and HD processing allows the VP30 to output current and legacy video sources to any resolution between 480p and 1080p with preset output resolutions for plasmas, LCD, DLP. LCOS and CRT displays.

Meridian, one of the world’s pioneers of audio technologies including MLP compression, has entered into an agreement that will allow Meridian to promote the Faroudja brand of video processing on a worldwide basis. Faroudja, owned by Genesis Microchip Inc., is an Emmy award winning technology firm best known for bringing the “line doubler” to the home theater market more than a decade ago. The deal matches an audio superpower with a video superpower.
