Niles Audio Corporation announces the official release of its whole-house distributed audio system dubbed IntelliControl ICS (Integrated Control Solutions). The IntelliControl ICS system accommodates all the popular digital sources and delivers detailed information to and from its keypad, touchscreen and handheld remote controllers. The result? Sirius satellite radio in the kitchen, iPod in the kids’ rooms and AM/FM radio in multiple rooms—simultaneously—and at the touch of a button!

At Electronic House Expo 2006 (EHX), Audioaccess, a division of JBL® that provides whole-house audio/video solutions, is exhibiting the W.H.E.N. (Whole-House Entertainment Network) system in active demonstrations at the Orange County Convention Center, Orlando, Florida, in Booth Demo Alley 202B (March 30 – April 1). Because it has an integrated Wi-Fi (802.11b) adapter it can access and distribute music, movies and photos from the PC or Internet to any Wi-Fi enabled electronics throughout the home too. For instance, TV listings can be accessed straight from the Internet via the Electronic Program Guide at the touch of a button. The remote is said to be easy to install, connecting seamlessly to equipment. It recognizes the brand of the equipment you’re connecting by learning the functions of the original remote and frequently used functions are combined into activities to make operation easier. Keeping the RC9800i up to date is also fairly simple, just upload the latest software and download new applications or subscribe to services wirelessly.

HomeLogic has a broad line of home management systems covering security, lighting and climate but now with the release of the OneHome Theater it has expanded its line to include home theater and video distribution control. The control allows custom dealers to integrate home theater components into fully integrated, networked homes. Homeowners will be able to access their home theater and video distribution systems from the OneHome in-wall and wireless touch screens or a Pocket PC. New and legacy sources such as DVD, DVR, satellite or cable, projector, flat screen and other displays can be connected using a serial or infra red-based control.
