Crestron Announces New PSPHD Processor
Crestron is expanding its Procise line of home theater products with a surround sound processor that’s sure to get fans of Sony’s portable device excited (and then really let down).  Dubbed the PSPHD (see?), this 7.3 surround sound audio processor was designed with the high end consumer in mind. The PSPHD features Audyssey Multi EQ XT, Dynamic EQ and Dynamic Volume, as well as independent controls for EQ, gating and compression for each mix input.

Logitech Harmony 900 Remote Gets Serious IR-RF Power

Sonos Releases a Touchscreen Music Controller
The new CR200 Sonos Touchscreen music controller is a response to the popularity of the Sonos iPod app released last year.  For those who want the navigationof the app, but who don’t have an iPod or iPhone, the features are in the CR200. Users can scroll through their own music library with just a touch and slide, or they can browse music offerings from services such as Last.fm, Rhapsody, Pandora, Napster and Sirius satellite radio.

SpeakerCraft Working on Nirv System
SpeakerCraft is working on an IP-based multi-room system that will be able to broadcast audio and video simultaneously across multiple rooms through a single category cable connected to consumer electronics sources.  This will be a Nirv system and will be shown at CEDIA in September with a tentative release date of the first quarter of 2010.

Details Released on the Crestron Prodigy
The word is out about Creston’s latest home control system, Prodigy.  Designed as a more affordable solution, many people are speculating that this is aimed at Control4’s market in a bid to make the competitor run for its money.  Creston officials have only said that the Prodigy was created to expand into new markets. The pricing for the Prodigy system is similar to Control4’s $300 system, or $700 system + 2-way ZigBee remote.
