In a joint effort between Philips Pronto and the Australian developer known as ProntoTunes, Apple programs have finally been made controllable by the popular two-way panels.

There's little cooler than being able to control your home theater, your lights and even your security system from a single touch panel built right in to your wall - except for having a touch panel in every room of the house.

The RedEye Mini is one of the cooler add-ons to come out for the iPhone.  It plugs right into the headphone jack of the phone and sends out infrared signals so you can use your iPhone as a fully programmable remote control.

The ZigBee specification isn't designed to make your TV look better or send wireless video through the air.  It's not something designed for certain users and not for others, either.  It tackles one of the most basic pieces of television functionality – the remote control.

It wasn't long ago that home control and home automation solutions only catered to the super rich.  Prices are coming down, controls are getting more specific in their purposes and more people are seeing the value of controlling their homes.
