VTL has just introduced the new S-400 Reference Stereo 400 Watt Amplifier. “The enthusiasm for our first product using these new technologies, the Siegfried Reference Monoblocks, has been very strong,” said Luke Manley, President of VTL. “Now, with the more affordable S-400, we’re bringing similar sound and functionality to a wider market.” The newest member of the Reference Series uses the same self-optimizing autobias circuitry, comprehensive diagnostics, and fault sensing found in the Siegfried Monoblocks. Remote operation and true RS-232 bi-directionality enable the S-400 to integrate into modern home theater systems.

The PLINIUS 9200, based on the PLINIUS Odeon Amplifier Module physically separates the control and power sections for absolute performance according to PLINIUS. By housing them in the same chassis removes the need for expensive interconnecting cables. Vinyl is still the preferred choice for audio reproduction by some audiophiles, and the Phono Stage in the PLINIUS 9200 will allow enthusiasts to extract high performance from their record collections. The PLINIUS 9200 will also work with digital sources. The on board Processor Loop allows direct connection and control from an external Home Theatre Processor.

Krell Industries, recently announced the introduction of the new KAV-400xi, the latest generation integrated amplifier from Krell. The KAV-400xi incorporates technology derived from the Full Power Balanced X Series amplifier design that increases bandwidth capability in both the preamplifier and power amplifier stages. This improvement prepares the KAV-400xi for SACD source components that operate as high as 180kHz in frequency range. The KAV-400xi preamplifier section includes a precision rotary volume control that is linked to an amplifier section with 200 Watts per channel into 8 ohms (400 Watts per channel into 4 ohms).
