The announcement of the PM5004 and PM8004 marks the final one in the huge new rollout by Marantz. These two new amps share the same look as the company's flagship amplifiers, with brushed aluminum in the center of the case and, of course, the classic Marantz star front and center. They've got three sets of IR codes, Flasher input and a few other features to make them nice and friendly for the custom installer.
If you're serious about listening to music through headphones, you know that a headphone amplifier is an essential piece of equipment. Vincent's new KHV-111MK aims to be the ultimate headphone amp. It's a hybrid of solid-state circuitry and a 12AX7 vacuum tube input stage. That means it uses a two-channel Class A triode tube. It's also got a large and stable power supply to support the hybrid nature of the amp.
The CAD 120S is a solid amplifier, but no matter how good an amp gets, there's always room for improvement. Cary Audio Design agrees with that sentiment, which is why they've created the CAD 120S MKII. According to Cary, you'll get wider soundstages, greater depth, finer detail and increased dynamics thanks to the new circuitry.
AudioControl's Savoy G3 is a powerful amplifier. It drives 7 channels at over 200 watts per channel at an 8-ohm load. In all, it delivers nearly 1500 watts of power. It's more efficient than previous models, and uses a Class H design. Heat generation and other unnecessary power dissipations have been reduced, making this a more energy efficient amplifier.
