If you’re a fan of those gloriously overacted action films of the 80s and 90s then you don’t need a new reason to be excited about the November 20th Blu-ray release of ‘The Expendables 2.’ Of course, even the most Stallone/Schwarzenegger/Statham hating home theater enthusiast will find something exciting to check out in this release – it’s the first Blu-ray to include DTS Neo:X.

The New Boxee Set-Top Adds an Antenna – Aims to Take on Cable
Boxee has been well established as an alternative to traditional television for a while now, and their latest creation is going to take a shot right across the bow.  The new set-top, pictures of which were leaked by The Verge, packs a tuner, an external antenna, and a box that proudly states "stop spending money on stuff you never watch.

McIntosh Sells to Fine Sounds Joining Sonus Faber, Audio Research and Others
The folks at D + M and the people over at McIntosh have parted ways.  In a deal that was announced earlier this week, McIntosh has been sold to an Italian company known as Fine Sounds, who own Sonus Faber, Audio Research, Wadia and Sumiko – all makers of high-end components.  This puts McIntosh in fine company.

Dolby Atmos In 12 US Theaters for 'Taken 2'
Dolby Atmos is one of those innovations that you really have to hear to appreciate.  It takes care of nagging theatrical audio problems like dead spots, but it does much more than that.  With Atmos, sound engineers can direct audio to specific locations and give a better immersion and feeling of movement.  The technology was first shown to the public for 'Brave,' and it's coming again for 'Taken 2.'  A total of 15 theaters will be using Atmos, with one in Canada and two in China also embracing Dolby's new creation.
