The RED Redray 4K Cinema Player is Up for Preorder at $1,450
If you're picking up a UHDTV or projector, you're going to want something to watch on it.  Upscaled Blu-rays and TV shows are a start, but for native UHD content, you don't have a lot of choices.  The folks at RED, better known for their cameras, have announced the new Redray player, which is capable of playing back 4K video files, and of handling HFR 3D – the same tech being used in theaters for screenings of 'The Hobbit.'

Mitsubishi Ends its TV Business and Consumer DLPs
When people want a giant screen at a low price, or they want to pick up the biggest TV around, Mitsubishi has been accommodating.  They've provided massive DLPs for the same price as much smaller LCDs and plasmas.  They've also innovated and worked with different technologies, such as their use of lasers.  That's all over, as it turns out.  Mitsubishi has officially announced the end of its TV business.

Support Page Leak Reveals Redbox Instant Subscription Details and Price
Redbox Instant has been one of the big question marks in world of streaming video and some details have finally been revealed.  The folks at GigaOm dug around in Redbox and came upon a support page for the service that shows a $6/mo price for unlimited streaming with an option to rent four DVDs a month for $2 more.  There's no word yet on what the plan is regarding Blu-ray rentals.

Redbox Expands Live Event Ticket Kiosks
It's long been speculated that Redbox would add movie tickets to its kiosks, but that's not what's happening here.  Instead, Redbox is offering tickets to live events. Initially this idea was tested in Philidelphia, but now it's being rolled out to Los Angeles area Redbox kiosks.

SVS Introduces its First Sub-$500 Subwoofers
The folks at SVS have introduced a pair of new subs that may not blow your mind with their feature set, but will certainly impress with their low price point.  At $499 each, the SB-1000 and PB-1000 both sport solid specs for the cost.
