When the first consumer TVs to take advantage of UHD resolution were announced, it seemed like they were all going to hover in the 84 inch range, but LG is bringing things down to the living room level. Their newest 4K sets will be coming in sizes more appropriate to the average living room – 55 and 65 inches. Prices haven't been announced yet, and we don't expect to see that happen until after CES.

The folks at LG are bringing plenty of cool stuff to CES this year, but the most intriguing of them is the HECTO Laser TV System – a projector and screen combo that gives users a large 1080p picture without requiring a ton of space. The laser projector, which boasts a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio, needs to be just 22 inches away to fill up the included 100 inch screen
The folks at Sceptre are stepping up their game for 2013. They've announced their lineup – though the details are still under wraps – and it includes some very cool additions in both TVs and monitors. Sceptre is referring to the new sets as Rimless, and they sport bezels of just 4mm. Those monitors aren't tiny either, ranging from 32 inches on up to 55. What's really intriguing though, is the soundbar.

The folks at Amazon have slowly but surely turned their streaming service into something real and desirable, instead of just an afterthought. The hybrid subscription/transactional service is available on a variety of game consoles, TVs and now it's arrived on the iPhone. Unfortunately, it leaves a lot to be desired.
