NFL Football and cutting edge technology unite as CBS Television and Thomson Multimedia’s RCA brand will bring present four AFC playoff games and Super Bowl XXXV in HDTV. RCA will underwrite the costs and CBS will produce this high-definition coverage. All NFL HDTV programming will be broadcast in 1920 x 1080i, the highest-definition widescreen digital television format.

Jimmy Page and The Blank Crowes have been forced to cancel the remainder of the second leg of their tour together due to a recent back injury suffered by Page. This news affects the shows starting August 15 in Irvine, CA through August 30 in Houston, TX. Jimmy Page and The Black Crowes will reschedule as many shows as possible before the start of the tour’s third leg which kicks off September 23 in Miami.

AFTER LIFE (New Yorker Films) is director Hirokazu Kareeda’s 1999 meditative fantasy about a group of strangers who, after their own deaths, are asked to select a single moment from each of their lives to be relived for eternity. Takashi Mochizuki and Shiori Satonaka star in the Japanese-language film that is subtitled in English. BEATLES BOXED SET (MPI) features a quartet of Fab Four pieces that have previously been available as individual titles: THE FIRST U.S. VISIT, HELP!, MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR and YOU CAN’T DO THAT: THE MAKING OF ‘A HARD DAY’S NIGHT.’
