THE BUMBLEBEE FLIES AWAY, from USA, is a drama based on a Robert Cormier novel, with Elijah Wood (currently filming in New Zealand as Frodo in LORD OF THE RINGS), Rachael Leigh Cook, Janeane Garofalo and RogerRees. CRADLE WILL ROCK, from Touchstone, is director/writer Tim Robbins' "Ragtime"-esque pastiche about the making of Marc Blitzstein's 1930s agitprop musical, mixing historical and invented characters, with an enormous cast of names, including Hank Azaria as Blitzstein, Angus MacFayden as Orson Welles, Cary Elwes as John Houseman, Bill Murray as an unhappy comedian, Joan Cusack as an even more unhappy anti-Communist, and Susan Sarandon, Ruben Blades, Vanessa Redgrave, John Cusack, Emily Watson, Philip Baker Hall and others.

Today, T.A.F.K.A.P. (The Artist Formerly Known As Prince) announced he was changing his name back to Prince. In 1993, Prince, who in the late 1980s signed the biggest record contract in history, changed his name to an unpronounceable symbol in order to free himself of the limitations of his recording and music publishing contract with Warner Brothers Records and Warner-Chappel music publishing. Prince said at a press conference today, "On Dec. 31, 1999, my publishing contract with Warner-Chappel expired, thus emancipating the name I was given before birth Prince, from all long-term restrictive documents." Prince's re-renaming kicked off a quirky, hour-long news conference, at which the Minneapolis rocker made an assortment of announcements, including the promise of a weeklong party in his hometown dubbed "Prince: A Celebration."

Designed to compliment the Lynnfield VR Tower speakers, Boston Acoustics today introduced the new Lynnfield VR center channel loudspeakers. Featuring Boston Acoustics MagnaGuard which allows the speakers to safely be placed on top of TVs, the VR 920 and VR 910 are priced at $599.95 MSRP and $349.95 MSRP respectively. Both speakers incorporate Boston Acoustics’ 1 inch aluminum VR tweeter with Amplitude Modification Device (AMD). Attached to the back each tweeter is a die-cast aluminum heat sink to efficiently cool the speaker when operating at high power levels. The 7 inch tall VR 920 is a three-way design featuring Boston Acoustics new 3 1/2-inch midrange driver that is vertically aligned with the VR tweeter.
