SONICBlue, the parent company behind PVR (personal video recorder) manufacturer ReplayTV, says it is now shipping their controversial 4000 series recorders despite a law suit from a few of the major TV studios. This summer the ReplayTV 4000 won an Emmy award for technological advancement but this fall was slapped with a suit over their products ability to exactly fast forward through commercial breaks.

Hitting the streets just a few days ago on November 20th was the latest release from DTS Entertainment, and it's a blockbuster: Queen's classic rock hit, "A Night At The Opera" on DVD-Audio, featuring the landmark "Bohemian Rhapsody" and the epic "Prophet Song". The 5.1 remix was performed by top engineer Elliot Scheiner, who has previously remixed such classics as The Eagles' "Hotel California" for surround. He was accompanied on the sessions by original Queen producer Roy Thomas Baker.

THE GRINCH, aka DR. SEUSS’ HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS (Universal Studios Home Video) is director Ron Howard’s extremely popular 2000 musical fantasy about a cranky creature trying to ruin Christmas for the quaint little town of Whoville. Jim Carrey gives an extraordinary performance in the remarkable Grinch makeup designed by Rick Baker. The film is available in separate widescreen and full-screen versions. The widescreen version aspect ratio is 1.85; full-screen is 1.33:1. Sound formats on both are English DTS, English Dolby Digital 5. 1 and French Dolby Digital 5.1, with English closed-captioning. Extras include a making-of featurette, deleted scenes, outtakes, a featurette on Whoville, a Faith Hill music video, production notes, sing-along songs, read-along songs and DVD-ROM features. MPAA rating is PG.
