Simply Home Entertainment, a new custom home theater design firm founded by Christopher Hansen (Christopher Hansen Ltd.) and Timothy Duffy (Ambrosia AV, EggelstonWorks, Theater Design Concepts), today acquired Cello Technologies Los Angeles from Cello Technologies Corporate, which is based in Falls Church, Virginia. Simply Home Entertainment will take on the responsibility of finishing all existing and pending projects underway with Cello Technologies Los Angeles. Simply Home Entertainment will also maintain all of Cello L.A.’s existing clients.

Salt Lake City, Utah-based Evett and Shaw – Flatte Design signed an exclusive agreement with eLuxury.com to sell and distribute their desktop, home theater and music playback products and systems in the United States. Much like the highly successful move by B&O, Evett and Shaw – Flatte Design will be dropping all of their other U.S. dealers in favor of high-end e-distribution. Evett and Shaw – Flatte Design will retain their traditional international distribution channels.

For those of you who like to take your music with you on the road, Panasonic has created the CQ-DVR909 in-dash mobile DVD-Audio/Video head unit. Featuring Center Fold, a distinctive fold-out center channel speaker, the CQ-DVR909 will be available in July, at a suggested retail price of $1999.95. Panasonic has a complete line of DVD-Audio ready speakers in the works for automotive applications. Also expect to see a portable DVD-Audio player released in the late fall/early winter of 2000. No model number or retail price is available yet. Panasonic recently announced plans to release a full line of DVD-Audio/Video products under both the Panasonic and Technics names. Slated for a July release, the Panasonic DVD-A7 will have a suggested retail price of $999.95, and the Technics DVD-A10 will have a retail at $1199.95. Technics will also introduce a line of DVD-Audio ready components, comprised of the SA-DA8 priced at $599.95 and the $799.95 SA-DA10.
