Rumors from Los Angeles rock radio station KLOS-FM and newsgroup postings surfaced yesterday that Axl Rose will be taking the 2000 version of Guns N Roses on tour this summer. In a European radio interview on the Malcolm Dome show, heavy metal band Testament's guitarist Eric Peterson claimed that the band received an offer to tour in support of Guns N’ Roses. Representatives from Guns N’ Roses’ label, Interscope/Geffen/A&M Records, have yet to confirm the tour rumors. Guns’ line up has changed vastly in the past 10 years, and the only remaining original member of the band is the once flamboyant, now reclusive singer Axl Rose.

Is there a chance that Beatles fans may get to hear Paul McCartney, Ringo Star and George Harrison in a mini Beatles reunion? The British Tabloid ‘The Sunday Mirror’ has reported that Paul and Ringo will be co-writing and performing tracks for George Harrison’s new album tentatively scheduled for release in 2001. The recording sessions for the untitled album are rumored to be taking place in Harrison’s home recording studio in London. If you can’t wait until 2001 for something new from the fab 3, the book ‘Beatles’ Anthology’ written by Paul, Ringo and George will be in bookstores this October.

DTS recently announced that several new titles have been added to thier release calendar of DVD titles encoded with DTS 5.1 Digital Surround soundtracks. Among these new releases are the first DTS-encoded DVD releases from Columbia/Tri-Star Home Video and Warner Home Video. The first DTS-encoded DVDs from Warner Home Video will be Lethal Weapon 1, 2, and 3, Twister, as well as Tom Cruise’s Interview with the Vampire all available in June. These new titles are all special editions with high-quality video transfers and exciting new video extras such interactive menus, additional scenes, and behind the scenes footage. The first release from Columbia/Tri-Star Home Video to offer a DTS-encoded soundtrack, will be the box office blockbuster 2 DVD release of Men In Black, with a street date of September 5, 2000. The stars of SPINAL TAP -- Christopher Guest, Michael McKean and Harry Shearer -- will appear as their TAP characters in a live performance on VH-1's THE HIT on June 22. Fran Drescher, star of the CBS Television series THE NANNIE, will also reprise her TAP role as Bobbie Flekman. VH-1 is set to do a SPINAL TAP special later in the summer.
