Straight Wire recently introduced their new Image-S new triple-shielded silver S-Video cable. Composed of hand- soldered metal barrel (not molded) Gold S-Video plugs onto a thick green cable, the IMAGE-S is priced at $50 per meter set and $12 per additional meter. The cable has discreet dual shielded precision coaxes with silver plated OFC stranded center conductors for broad bandwidth transmission of ultra-high quality video signals. These coax units are entwined with soft filler materials and then covered with another shield to virtually eliminate EMI interference.

The highly anticipated DVD releases of Jurassic Park and The Lost World hit store shelves today (10/10/2000). To celebrate the two releases, Universal Studios Home Video and Panasonic Consumer Electronics Company have announced a promotion that may be of great interest to anyone who is still stuck watching movies at home on their VHS machines. BLUE’S BIG MUSICAL MOVIE (Paramount Home Entertainment/Nickelodeon) is a new animated feature based on the popular children’s TV series "Blue’s Clues." The film focuses on the fundamentals of music, including the difference between notes, rhythm and tempo. The feature has six new songs, including two with vocals by Ray Charles. The DVD features a "making of" featurette, two music videos and a "Who Am I?" guessing game. BOSSA NOVA (Columbia/TriStar) is director Bruno Barreto’s 1999 romantic comedy about an American woman in Brazil. Amy Irving (Barreto’s real-life wife) and Antonio Fagundes star. DVD extras include a "making of" short, an audio commentary track with Barreto and Irving, a deleted scene with an optional audio commentary track and an isolated music score audio track.

In an effort to make Digital Video Recorders (DVRs) a mainstream AV product, ReplayTV has partnered with a few of the big hitters in the venture capital business to fund a project code named Disco. The money is coming from players like Motorola, Charter Communications, and Paul Allen's (Microsoft) Vulcan Ventures Inc.
