Parasound Gear Used For The Sound Design of Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones Parasound Products, Inc. announced that it has been honored by Lucasfilm for the contributions of its products to sound design and editing of "Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones." The movie specifically lists Parasound in the credit lines.

Minnetonka Audio Software announced the release of discWelder STEEL, a basic DVD-Audio writing program that allows pro and consumer users to deliver high-resolution audio from his or her own PC, at the price of $495. With discWelder STEEL, the user can import all Linear PCM formats supported in the DVD-A specification, including non-encoded / uncompressed surround (consisting of up to 6 channels of 24-bit, 48KHz audio), and/or high-resolution stereo (two channels of 24-bit, 192KHz audio). Surround and stereo tracks may be used on the same disc, in WAV or AIFF file format, and a discWelder-burned disc will play on any DVD-A player that supports DVD-R.

Eonline.com is reporting that political activists have been trying to recruit Bruce Springsteen to run for Senator in New Jersey as a Republican. Springsteen’s publicists quoted General Tecumseh by saying "If nominated, I will not run. If elected - I will not serve."

Breakthrough rockers, Alien Ant Farm, known best for their hard hitting, street savvy cover of Michael Jackson’s "Smooth Criminal" were involved in a bus accident while on tour in Spain about 100 miles from Madrid. The tour bus crashed into a parked car killing the driver. Each band member lived with lead singer Dryden Mitchell hurting his back and guitarist Terry Corso breaking his ankle. Drummer Mike Cosgrove had multiple cuts and bruises from the accident as did some of the tour technicians who were on the band.

One word sums up why the big five media conglomerates cannot stop the crusade by Hillary Rosen and the RIAA against downloadable music: antitrust. Sources close to AudioRevolution.com say that the big mistake by the major labels in regard to downloadable music was made when the old school executives failed to realize the potential of the insane marketing possibilities a few years ago when Napster was gaining underground popularity. The conservative thinking at the music companies was, "Ignore Napster and it will eventually go away."
