Graham Nash, one third of the formidable trio of CSN (Crosby Stills and Nash) and sometimes quartet including Neil Young, announced at CES 2002 that his latest album will be released in DVD-Audio DTS 5.1 surround. This release will happen at the same time as the two-channel stereo compact disc introduction. An avid supporter of DVD-Audio’s multi-channel reproduction, Graham stated that this project has re-energized him and has him more excited about the studio than he has been in more than 20 years. "Recordings are most often done from the performers perspective – This recording is presented from the prospective of the audience."

Capitol Records in the U.S. and Parlophone Records in the U.K. will re-release George Harrison's single "My Sweet Lord" on January 14, 2002 as a tribute to Harrison, who died two weeks ago. Profits from the release of the single will go to charity, although specific details are still not confirmed. A Parlophone spokesman said, "As a tribute to George Harrison, it is vital that we make sure that the single is released when all elements are firmly in place. A release date of January 14, 2002 will allow us to do this."

Never say die but it sure looks like the two big solo records from classic rockers Mick Jagger and Paul McCartney have stiffed. In Jagger’s first week promoting the new album release "Goddess in the Doorway" (Virgin) he sold a measly 68,000 units in the week ended November 25. McCartney's "Driving Rain" (Capitol) opened at No. 26 with 66,000 copies sold the week prior to the Jagger release. It has since tumbled to No. 65 on the charts. Britney Spears just sold over 750,000 units of her self titled album in its first week toppling Michael Jackson’s ironically titled "Invincible" which pumped out a respectable 350,000 units the week before.
