Those that lived in an era when soft rock ruled the airways, wish it wasn’t true but late 1970’s and 1980’s soft rock is all the rage with hip Gen Xers. A 31 year old executive from Universal Music Group recently told me that she had attended more than one soft rock themed party before she moved to LA for work and that they were becoming all the rage in New York. Baby Boomers, who know the in’s and out’s of bell bottoms and Member’s Only jackets are simply in denial.

Los Angeles based TV producer, David Krieff, has been trying to arrange to send boy band, heart-throb Lance Bass from ‘N Sync to the Russian Space Station as part of a upcoming reality based TV program. However CNN reports that Krieff is late on payments despite Bass’ intensive training since June. The project seems to be in peril.

According to MTV News, rapper, actor and now adult film producer, Snoop Dogg is being considered for the role of Huggy Bear in the upcoming Starsky and Hutch movie. The retro film will be a silver screen adaptation of the 1970’s TV cop drama with a new twist and modern comedic timing.
