Classic rock legends, Aerosmith have just cancelled three shows due to lead singer, Steven Tyler’s, "unspecified illness." Tyler had been having throat problems in recent months but the "unspecified illness" has sparked rumors of much more. Perhaps much of that is based on George Harrison’s secrecy before his sickness progressed to terminal levels.

Some of the biggest stars in music will be performing this weekend to benefit terror victims and to boost the morale of the United States. Paul McCartney, David Bowie, Michael Jackson, Tim McGraw, 'N Sync and the Backstreet Boys plan to perform at three benefit concerts to raise money for the victims of the September Eleventh terrorist attacks. The weekend concerts begin Saturday October 20th with the "Concert for New York City'' at Madison Square Garden. Along with the Backstreet Boys and Destiny's Child, that event features Paul McCartney, David Bowie, Elton John, Eric Clapton, Billy Joel, U2's Bono, Marc Anthony just to name a few. Sting is slated to head out on tour to promote his new live album, All This Time, which is expected in stores on November 20, 2001. Sting’s web broadcast from Italy was cut short on September 11th after playing just one song, "Fragile" which was dedicated to the victims of that day’s tragedies. The December 12th tour stop will feature Sting as part of The Elton John AIDS Foundation Benefit at the Universal Amphitheater in Los Angeles.

Legendary classic rockers including STYX, REO Speedwagon, Bad Company, Journey, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Kansas, Eddie Money, Survivor, John Waite, Edgar Winter, Grand Funk Railroad's Mark Farner and many more to be announced will perform at two "Volunteers For America" benefit concerts. The concerts are scheduled for Saturday, Oct 20th at the HiFiBuys Lakewood Amphitheatre in Atlanta, GA and Sunday, October 21st at the Smirnoff Music Center in Dallas, TX. "I just couldn't stand by without doing something to help all of the people whose lives have been destroyed by the terrible tragedies of September 11th," said organizer and lead singer of Styx, Tommy Shaw. "I just starting calling up all of my friends to see what we could do. The response has been amazing and we expect to add many more artists to the line up."
