America’s normally polite neighbors to the north were as mad as hell last night. Guns N’ Roses fans at GM Place in Vancouver, British Columbia began rioting after discovering that the opening date of the band’s first North American tour in over nine years had been canceled. G n’ R’s official spokeswoman stated that the show was cancelled due to technical difficulties with frontman Axl Rose’s airplane that delayed his flight. Angered by the news, a handful of angry fans rammed steel barricades through the box office windows and doors of the venue and shot bottle rockets and threw rocks at police who were on the scene. The officers responded with blasts of pepper spray and used their riot batons to subdue the crowd and arrested twelve people.

With hockey season long over, baseball players on the verge of a strike and no NBA basketball, it’s time to gear up for NFL football. The ninety-minute concert will feature Enrique Iglesias and DJ Scribble performing as openers. Using the same area that the New Year’s Eve ball drops at, a giant football will be used to count down the last moments before the 2002/2003 NFL season kicks off at the end of the concert.
