After years of speculation about a Van Halen reunion tour, the rumors have finally been put to rest as Van Halen has officially announced 28 upcoming concert dates across the United States this summer on their website www.van-halen.com. A new publicity photo on the site featuring Sammy Hagar with Michael Anthony, Eddie and Alex Van Halen confirms that the band has chosen Hagar over other former frontmen Diamond David Lee Roth and Gary Cherone. Hagar appeared on the Howard Stern show today and further confirmed the tour rumors and said that the bad blood between him and the Van Halen brothers is over and he is enthusiastic about being chosen to be back in the band. According to Hagar, none of the songs that the band originally wrote and performed while David Lee Roth was in the band will be performed on the tour.

Prince’s “Musicology” Tour will be unlike any other before it because it will be blazing the trail for a new type of entertainment: satellite concerts. These one-time only events, deemed “satellite concerts”, will allow movie theater patrons all over the United States to watch Prince’s March 29 show from Los Angeles’ Staples Center. The concert will be projected on the big screen and presented in fully digital sound. Also, everyone who buys a ticket to attend one of the events will receive a free copy of Prince’s “Musicology” CD. (This is worth the price of a ticket in itself because Prince has not decided on a distributor for his CD so it is not available in stores as of yet.)

ArrowFM.com, the website for Infinity’s Los Angeles based Classic Rock station, is reporting unconfirmed rumors that have been recently been circulating among Hollywood record executives that Sammy Hagar has been in contact with Eddie and Alex Van Halen about reuniting the band. Van Halen has been laying low since their disastrous album release entitled Van Halen III featuring their third frontman, Gary Cherone. Sources inside the music business in Hollywood tell AudioRevolution.com that in the time since Van Halen ended its 25 year relationship with Warner Brothers Records that they had been working on a full studio album with their original front man, Diamond David Lee Roth. This source tells AudioRevolution.com that he has heard many the tracks which Roth was doing the vocals for in Pasadena while the band recorded at their 5150 studios. That album has never been released and rumors of a VH reunion with Roth have quieted.

ArrowFM.com is reporting a rumor circulating around Hollywood that classic rock icons, The Eagles will soon be playing a special benefit for Democratic presidential candidate, Wesley Clark. The show is reportedly to be held at the Hard Rock Hotel in Vegas. The Eagles and especially frontman Don Henley have never made their towards-the-left political beliefs a secret. Now they might be putting their musical talents to work to raise money to support retired general Wesley Clark and possibly more importantly ouster incumbent president George Bush. Adding further credence to the Eagles show in Vegas rumor is the fact that many music industry bigwigs, including Hard Rock founder, Peter Morton will be hosting a $500 per plate fund raiser at Morton’s chic West Hollywood restaurant this weekend.
