The Rolling Stones confirmed that they will visit Shanghai as part of their 'A Bigger Bang' World Tour. Performing for their first time ever in mainland China, this historic event will take place Saturday, April 8th, 2006 in the intimate confines of the 8,500 seat Shanghai Grand Stage.

After 17 years the eighties rock’n’roll band "The Cars" are reuniting today as "The New Cars” to announce a brand new live album entitled "The New Cars: It's Alive". The album also features three new studio recordings written by original Cars band members Elliot Easton (guitar) and Greg Hawkes (keyboards) and new lead singer and guitarist, Todd Rundgren (New York Dolls, Meatloaf, Patti Smith, Hall and Oats) replacing Ric Ocasek.One of the new Studio recordings, "Not Tonight" will be released as the first single.

The Joan Jett anthem "I Love Rock and Roll" may seem more at home on a Time-Life collection of 80's songs than on stage in front of thousands of punk skateboard kids but that didn't stop the tour from adding Joan Jett and her Blackhearts to this year's bill.

The 48th Annual Grammy Awards was held last night at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. It was a star-studded evening and included twenty six performances by some of music’s biggest names. The Record of the Year award went to punk-pop favorites Green Day for “Boulevard of Broken Dreams”. U2 won the album of the year for “How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb” and also the Song of the Year for “Sometimes You Can’t Make It on your Own” from the same album. The Best New Artist of the Year went to John Legend for “So High”. See below for a list of the major category winners.

Reunited and it feels so good. This Live 8 show really is capturing the feeling of the Live Aid shows I watched in Philadelphia as a kid. Today one of rock’s most popular, innovative, successful and creative bands, Pink Floyd including Roger Waters, agreed to put years of animosity behind them to reunite for the Live 8 show to benefit Africa.
