Sharp recently announced its latest development, a two-way viewing-angle LCD that shows two different images on the same screen at the same time. The image viewers see depends on whether they look at the screen from the right or the left side. For home users this could mean the end of the fight for the remote; a couple can watch a football game and a romantic comedy on the same screen or a parent can watch the news while a child watches cartoons. There are obstacles of course, images overlap if viewers are not far enough to the left or right, and sounds can drown each other out, making a pair of headphones necessary.

JVC is now shipping a new line of high definition LCD televisions with HDMI inputs, CableCard compatibility and integrated ATSC tuners that gives users a clean look by eliminating the need for separate set-top boxes. The line features high-resolution, 770p, 1366x768 W-XGA LCD displays in a range of sizes from 26 to 40 inches and retails between $2,499.95 and $4,999.95. A dual IEEE 1394 input allows users to connect the set to a video camera or other device, while the top of the line’s 40-inch set also features a memory card slot for easy viewing of images from a digital camera.

Apple announced that it has reduced the price its line of widescreen flat panel Cinema Displays making the 20-inch model $799 and the 23-inch HD model $1,499. In addition, Apple’s 2.7 GHz Power Mac G5s and 1.67 GHz 17-inch PowerBooks now feature built-in support to drive Apple's 30-inch Cinema HD Display.

Samsung is launching the groundbreaking SlimFit TV featuring Samsung's new space-saving CRP (Cathode Ray Panel) technology. The new TXR3079WH is a 30" widescreen, integrated HDTV that measures less than 16" from front to back, whereas typical CRT sets on the market today average more than 24" in depth.

Princeton DIGITAL has just introduced the SENergy 914. The slim-bezel TFT display is the first 19" LCD monitor with Premium MVA Technology and triple-input for desktop flexibility. Princeton DIGITAL will be shipping the SENergy 914 in March 2004 with a suggested retail price of $699.99.
