You better sit down for this one. Samsung has announced that they are entering the mass production phase of the brightest LCD Panel. The LCD panel measures 70 inches, with a 200,000:1 contrast ratio. In addition it sports a 2000 cd/m2 brightness rating. To top it all off it is of course a 1080p display panel.
Sharp introduces a new lineup of LCD displays with extended abilities. The PN-S525 and PN-S655 are designed to be used as landscape or portrait positioned monitors. The LCDs also feature a faster image refresh rate, improving resistance to image retention. Sharp has also updated the number of inputs, as well as adding a RJ-45 port for network connectivity.
Silicon Mountain? Allio? That's right, Silicon Mountain releases the Allio 42-inch HDTV with built-in PC and Blu-ray Player. Silicon Mountain has blended the media center pc concept directly into the HDTV viewing medium. The Allio offers a host of features.

Thinner seems to be the game when it comes to HDTVs. NEC Electronics has announced a new wiring scheme for LCD HDTVs that aims to better the transfer rate of the signal internally, decrease the amount of wiring needed, and thus decrease the overall thickness of large LCD displays.
