January's an exciting time for the consumer electronics industry. Just as CEDIA
brings out the best from high-end gear, CES is time for the entire industry to shine. It's a time for feature debuts, a look at future technology and best of all, new product announcements.
The Consumer Electronics Association held its hall of fame inductions earlier last week to honor those who have made a difference in the field. Among them are Joe and Rachelle Friedman who created J&R Music and Computer World, David and Eugene Mondry who built Highland Superstores into the success that it is today and Al Sotoloff, one of the first big-box CE dealers.
