XpanD and Panasonic Team on New 3D Standard
The Consumer Electronics Association is looking for a new 3D standard and the folks at XpanD think they've got just the thing. The company has teamed with Panasonic to create a standard in 3D glasses that would help to make compatibility issues a thing of the past. Their new glasses would use two-way technology that would let the glasses communicate with your home theater, and adjust themselves based on the brand and model of your setup.

Dolby Announces New Cheaper 3D Glasses For Theaters
Though RealD is the current leader in theatrical 3D, Dolby is in hot pursuit.  The company's new 3D glasses are light, stylish, and cheap.  They're also made to be reused, instead of being recycled or trashed.

Japanese Electronics Facilities Damaged in Quake
 The earthquake that hit Japan may prove devastating to some consumer electronics companies that were damaged by the natural disaster. Not all of Japan's major manufacturers and suppliers were hit in the massive quake, but many suffered damage that resulted in shutdowns of facilities.  Luckily, very few serious injuries have been reported.
