Say goodbye to the good old days of cheap, unlimited DVD rentals and unlimited streaming for less than ten dollars. Starting today for new customers, and after the first of September for existing customers, U.S. Netflix subscribers will find pricing on the unlimited streaming / unlimited DVD rentals (1 at-a-time) jumping from $9.99/month to $15.98/month.  Blu-ray rentals are of course $2-5 per month extra (depending on the plan).  This price jump isn't really a surpise given the amount of cash Netflix has been sinking into original programming and licensing agreements, but still 60 percent is quicte a rate hike. 

One of the problems that's been facing fans of 3D is a significant lack of content.  While there are an increasing number of 3D Blu-rays and a few 3D channels on the market, there isn't enough to fill a full day of entertainment. It's not an issue of 3D content not being released - there just isn't much out there.  Sources say that CBS hopes to help solve this by converting 2D content to 3D and popping it on to a brand new cable channel.  The company has apparently been shopping the idea around to cable providers and showing off their 2D to 3D conversion tech.

If you're living outside of the 50 US States and Canada, chances are you're pretty sick of people talking up the Netflix streaming service when you can't even access it.  It's like how we in the States feel about Spotify.  Good news is here for those living in Mexico, Central America, South America and the Carribbean - Netflix has announced that streaming video will be coming your way later this year.  You'll be able to access the site in Spanish, Portuguese or English depending on your preference and stream movies directly to your PC or a variety of other devices.

LG can say whatever it wants about people preferring passive technology and Sony and Panasonic can taut their Hollywood connections as much as they care to, but the folks at Samsung have one big statistic on their side that beats all of that talk. That statistic is a massive 61 percent share of the 3D TV market.  Three out of every five 3D plasmas and LCDs that get sold are Samsungs TVs - that gives the company some serious bragging rights.

This morning, I brought up Hulu.com as I read that linking your Facebook Connect account added a free month of Hulu Plus to my Hulu account.  I love Hulu Plus!  Why wouldn't I take them up on that deal?  It's an easy enough process, simply click the familiar Facebook Connect button.  However, when I clicked the button, something at Hulu went awry.
