ReQuest has announced the release of new firmware for the Intelligent Media Client, or IMC, free of charge. This will make ReQuest the first and only media server producer to offer the free service Hulu.com to its customers. Hulu.com allows users to access hundreds of videos, movies and television programming.

S1Digital is releasing the P500, part of their ProLine Series, with the custom installer market in mind. It's designed for whole-house entertainment, and includes the Xonar HDAV1.3 sound and video card from Asus. The card can output lossless Blu-Ray audio, a feat which is rarely handled properly. Most PCs must downsample audio from Blu-Rays because they lack the proper certifications.
The MS1 MediaServer, a new audio/video from Imerge, is set to receive a boost from HDGIANTS – by embedding their HD MediaStore technology in order to bring high-definition music and video downloads directly to the consumer’s home theater.
Netgear is readying to update their digital media player lineup. Most renowned for their Ethernet adapter products, Netgear is set to take on the AppleTV – or so they think. Netgear's EVA9150 Digital Entertainer Elite will allow for videos and photos from YouTube and Flickr, in addition to the content from your PC, to be sent to your HDTV.
Apple has released an update for the AppleTV. Version 2.3's biggest addition is that of AirTunes capability. The AppleTV can now stream music via AirTunes to Airport Express speakers and other AppleTVs within the household.
