Warner Home Video has announced the May 23rd HD DVD release of “The Fugitive” and “Blazing Saddles”. Both titles will be available for a suggested retail price of $28.99. All bonus materials on the Standard Definition versions of each of the two titles will be included on the HD DVD versions.

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has announced the release of two more HD DVD titles for release on May 16th. This next wave brings the release of the military classic Full Metal Jacket and Clint Eastwood’s Academy Award Winning Unforgiven. Each title will have a suggested retail price of $28.99.

Warner Home Video announced the release of the first title in the new HD-DVD/DVD Combo Format. One side of the disc contains the HD-DVD version, while the other side contains the Standard Definition DVD version. The film Rumour Has It will debut May 9th in this format.

Universal Studios Home Video has released an official statement on their stance on the Image Constraint Token (ICT) flag in the upcoming HD-DVD high definition disk format. Universal originally expressed support for the ICT, but now joins four of the six major studios speaking out against ICT.

According to published reports, Warner Home Video has delayed and reduced the number of titles available for release on the HD-DVD format. The original launch date was March 28 and has now been moved back to April 18, 2006. The batch of titles will now only include three movies: Million Dollar Baby, The Last Samurai and Phantom of the Opera. More than a dozen other titles including Batman Begins and The Matrix are delayed despite CES announcements of their pending release.
